It’s been a long road to here, but the end is within sight. I can announce today that the Release Date for “Killing the Immortals” will be July 31. That’s when you’ll see it on Amazon for the first time, and can purchase it for yourself, and buy it as a gift for everyone you know, along with lots of people you don’t know. I mean, who doesn’t want a book they’ve never heard of by some random guy they don’t know? You’re sold, aren’t you? Yeah, that’s what I thought.
The print book will release in paperback only and will start at $12.99. It will be done through Amazon Createspace’s Print on Demand service, which means they’ll only print the book once it’s ordered. That saves me from the cost of printing in advance, and I’ll just take a royalty on the end product.
Digitally, I’m signing a three-month exclusive deal with Kindle, so that’s the only format you’ll be able to buy it on, at least at release. The list price for the Kindle version will be $4.99, but I’ll have a price promotion for the first week that will start it at 99 cents and gradually work its way up toward $4.99. So, if you want it on the cheap, I’d suggest to jump on there right away.
I’ll have other announcements to come, but this is definitely one of the biggest ones. It’s going to be exciting to see the book finally reach people, potentially around the world. I don’t expect sales to go well for this first book, but that’s not the point. This is just the start. This is the first step on a long road toward being a full-fledged author. It’s going to take years, and this is only the opening salvo, but I’m committed to make the trip. For now, it’s just time to take that first shot. I’m ready.
